Jan Hasak – Church Secretary

Jan Hasak is a motivational speaker and author of Mourning Has Broken: Reflections on Surviving Cancer. At seminars, support groups, and church gatherings, she shares how her faith in Christ sustained her as she endured breast-cancer diagnosis and treatment at age 43 and again at 52.
As an attorney at a leading biotechnology firm with an advanced scientific degree, she wrote patents for over 20 years. She won an award from her company for her account of being treated with its breast-cancer drug, Herceptin, and she also received a Lymphedema Day award in 2008. She wrote an article that appeared in the September 2008 issue of the California Southern Baptist Convention newsletter describing volunteer work done after the June-July 2008 Paradise, California fires. In 2009, Jan retired from her career as a patent attorney and began working at the Church as our secretary.
Martin Glasenapp – Church/School Administrator
Martin Glasenapp first came to Magalia, California in 2005. He has a dual role here at Magalia Pines Baptist Church as the Pines Christian Academy administrator and the facility manager for the church and does various ministries in both of these areas. Martin oversees the properties of the church and teaches our students at Pines Christian Academy. He also schedules transportation for those who would like a ride to church.
Martin became a Christian while attending a Royal Ambassadors camp in the sixth grade. From there he grew up in a Southern Baptist church and joined the U.S. Navy in 1981. While he was serving his country he met his wife Linda, who also teaches for Pines Christian Academy at the lower elementary level. They have two children, Joshua, who is 21 and attending Visible Music School in Memphis, Tennessee, and Brittney, who is 20.
Martin has a B.A in theology and an M.S in Church/School Administration from Shasta Bible College in Redding, California. He is also a chef by trade from his experience in the U.S. Navy. Martin says: “I love attending church here in Magalia because it is rewarding and challenging knowing that this church stands on what the Bible has to say for my brother and sister and, of course, ME!”
Chris Jensen – Student Minister

Cathy Page – Pre-School Director
Catherine Page’s work on staff at Magalia Pines includes all aspects of our work with babies, preschoolers, kindergartners and their families. Cathy has also served for several years as co-director of our annual Vacation Bible School. Cathy believes that the people, relationships and experiences a young child finds in Sunday School and other childcare/teaching situations at church are foundational to the child’s emerging concepts and relationships to God, Jesus, and Church.
Cathy became a follower of Christ in her preteen years and was brought up in Southern Baptist Churches. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree (majoring in English Literature with a specialization in Elementary Education) at California Baptist College (now California Baptist University) in Riverside. Her career has been in teaching, primarily preschoolers, though now she works as an instructional aide in special education at Paradise High School and teaches the high school English class at our Pines Christian Academy.
Cathy and her husband Pat moved to Magalia from the San Francisco Bay Area, after Pat’s retirement in 2003 and immediately became active members of Magalia Pines Baptist Church.
