March Newsletter 2017

You know what they say about the month of March?

In like a lion, out like a lamb. Here’s what one “expert”  has to say.

Punxsutawney Phil is the name of a groundhog in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. On February 2 (Groundhog Day) each year, the town of Punxsutawney celebrates the legendary groundhog with a festive atmosphere of music and food.

During the ceremony, which begins well before the winter sunrise, Phil emerges from his temporary home on Gobbler’s Knob, located in a rural area about 2 miles (3 km) south-east of town.

According to the tradition, if Phil sees his shadow and returns to his hole, he has predicted six more weeks of winter-like weather. What can we say, uh oh told ya so more rain and snow coming.

Pastor’s Corner:

Many exciting things are happening at Magalia Pines Baptist Church these days., God has blessed us in so many ways and with so many people.

Upward International Schools is serving up another year with more schools on the horizon to teach the children about life with God in their presence. Please pray for them as they head out into all the world with the good news of the Gospel.

Pray for the areas in which God would have you serve. Every day adds excitement with the change of weather and the coming spring season. There is an abundant source of strength and Hope that comes with a new season that we can tap into and share with others.

Most of all be in prayer for each other and in all things, give thanks to God for his many wonderful blessings. In a recent message we dealt with Jesus’ answer to those who have experienced a crisis or disaster in any form. Check it out for yourself. It is not an opinion. It is God’s Word to the hurting.

Continuing in His Service,

Pastor Doug.
